Been Gardenin'

One of the nice things about Island State is that if you fail to put your garden in in Spring because you're taking exams, it's no problem. The growing season is year round.

First, we made that strip of dirt you see there into a raised bed. That's 10 bags of dirt. Then, we made boxes for the strawberries and spinach. You can't see everything here, but, we planted

African basil
Italian basil
Cuban basil
Greek oregano
thyme
rosemary
green onion
fern-leaf lavender
mint
jalapeno pepper
Roma tomato
cherry tomato
sweet cherry tomato
eggplant
Okinawan spinach
wheat grass
strawberries
snap peas (from seed)
spinach (from seed, a local variety I can't remember the name of)

We had left from last year

parsley
oregano
aloe
chocolate mint (which is near death)

We still have lettuce to plant when we make another box (from seed). Need more wood for that.

Thank you, Anon. The trees were all there before--all local varieties. We moved another tree into a large pot (it was in a small pot, but tapped into the ground).

It was me who commented. I just forgot to sign my name. The raised bed makes a big difference.
