A student just emailed me to ask if we would be using the book listed by bookstore as required for my class. Um, yes, it's the only one, so it's not like we might run out of time. I am aware that some professors assign books but don't use them, and those people are evil. I am not one of them. You should know that because I ordered one book, not 12.
No one has ever asked me this before. I've had students tell me that they didn't read the book because I told them everything they needed to know, so I have endeavored to use the book thoroughly so that students get their money's worth. Oh, this is for first-year composition.
But, man, weird question.
