Apparently, I need some external deadlines for this whole studying for exams thing. I know the clock is ticking, and I'm working...but I'm doing more of the moving-things-around work than the substantial-work. Someone kick my ass. please?
And I really do need to get more done before I can start talking to examiners. I need to have, you know, read the damn texts and all.

Why not get your mentor/friend to set some deadlines for you. It could be as simple as her asking you at the end of each week how much and what you accomplished.I bet she would; and I bet that little bit of accountability would be enough to kick you in 4th gear!
